Rhetoric Society of America
University of Wisconsin-Madison
June 1 – 7, 2015
Welcome to the 2015 Summer Institute! With the most extensive selection of sessions and participants to date, we’re preparing for a week of spirited inquiry into all things rhetorical, from digital alcoves to methodological conundrums and the many curious intersections between. Expect to produce a bit of polished prose, but mostly to join your mentors and colleagues in the friendly wrangle over whatever we’d say is in rhetoric’s domain.
Though we can’t promise perfect weather, the sunshine is usually generous in early June, when Lake Mendota’s shoreline becomes the iconic agora of our university. UW-Madison ranks high on nearly every list of most beautiful campuses in America, and outside its perimeter are charms for nature lovers and city folks alike. We’ve suggested a few of our favorite things to do here, hoping you’ll sample creatively beyond. As far as events go, the speed dating will be lively at the very least. For mingling and food, come to the receptions and to Friday’s keynote luncheon with Bill Keith and Roxanne Mountford, or lounge awhile Thursday evening on the Terrace with old and new friends.
As a community of rhetoric enthusiasts, the RSA and the University of Wisconsin-Madison are committed to optimizing participation for all attendees, so please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions as you gear up to join us in June. We’ll look forward to welcoming you soon in Madison.
